Nagano Rainbow- Baby, It’s cold Outside (December 18th-22th)

Hello Everyone!

Winter is here and it’s getting colder day by day, so we make the most of the weather and go to the playground and the park before it’s all covered and buried in snow. This week, the kids went to the park, there they enjoyed collecting twigs, dried leaves and pine cones. They gathered big and small stones too, it’s so interesting watching them play and imagine things. By running around the wide open spaces the kids get warm and so the cold doesn’t really bother them. As usual they head to the slide and the swing too. However on days when we can’t go out because of the rain we play indoors, Indoor play is still active play, it’s jumping, rolling on a mat, going in a tunnel and balancing on stepping stones. Play is really important for the kids. It helps make them grow even more healthy in many ways.

Music Class

Kids learn music by playing too! The kids had fun learning music with their bodies. The music teacher played the music then they ran around the room and when the music stopped everyone had to balance on one foot sometimes the music was quick other times it was slow. This way the kids learn about slow and fast tempo. Then they also did clapping, they needed to clap to the beat, they clapped by themselves and then with a friend. It was amazing to see them naturally learn, by listening to the sound, as they got better and better and while having a blast too.

Regular Lessons and Monthly Theme

This week after the Christmas Show we are back to our regular lessons, now we have more time to focus on them as we didn’t have to practice for the show anymore. The kids are learning about the letters U and V and words that start with those letters, we repeatedly practice the examples given and we play games too. We are also learning about clothes, how to wear them and when to wear them.

That’s it for this week. Thank you for taking the time to read Rainbow’s weekly adventures. Keep warm everyone!
