In connection to our UOI transdisciplinary theme, we went to Zenkoji Temple last Monday and met some people there who are community helpers like vendors, cashiers, monks. We also met some foreign tourists there. We learned that the place isn’t just for praying but it’s also for tourist attraction and shops.
We also drew our map around the community and talked about the helpers in the different places in the community. We worked as a group and presented our map to the class.
Since we talk about community helpers and we want to be community helpers as well, we practiced being school helpers on Friday. We helped Rainbow and Aurora classes for a short time.
Physical Education
We have been practicing jumping over a platform with the use of our arm strength.
Phonics
We learned the digraph ee last week and had a quiz this week. First, we arranged the letters of the word to form its correct spelling. Then in round 2, we wrote the correct spelling pf the words with digraph ee. Everyone did it correctly!

It was a fun birthday celebration with everyone in Shooting Star.
February 3rd is Setsubun day. We drove the demon away by throwing paper balls (beans) at him.
