Rainbow Nagano: Our First Walk to The Park!

This is the moment we have been waiting for! After all the practices and hard works, we all went to the park this week for the very first time! After the morning circle, we prepare ourselves immediately to depart. The Rainbow kids were so happy about it, they put on their shoes themselves, line up nicely and walk properly. Once we reached the park, the teachers explained the rules (Do & Don’t) at the rest area to ensure everyone knows how to protect themselves and have fun at the same time. The weather was so good for outdoor activities, Yay!

For the music lesson this week, we pretended to be a rabbit and hop around as the warm up. The Rainbow kids were full of energy, they can hop as high as they want! As the music stops, we received a hula hoop and imagine we’re driving a bus, we control our steering (Hula hoop) and make sure our “bus” is driving safely without bumping into each other. We stopped as the music faded, “repaired our bus” and it goes bom, bom, bom! We did different gestures using hula hoop, music lesson was so creative! Lastly, we sang the flower’s song and returned to our classroom for monthly theme.

The monthly theme for this month is our body parts! We have been singing the song name “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and toes”. Dear parents, you can also sing and dance with your child with this song, you only need to point to the body parts when you hear the song. This week we also did the review on it, first we did the vocabularies, we ensure everyone pronounce the body parts with their best efforts. Next, we asked them to point out the body parts, each of them pointed correctly and they knew where to point. Lastly, we did the matching worksheet and crafts to reinforce their knowledge on body parts. For the matching, we asked them to recognize the right clothes to put on the body parts, they first pronounce the body parts, think about the proper clothes on it, and draw a line to match it. The craft lesson was fun because we were able to build our body! We first received the body stickers, think about the right position (such as head at the top of the body), apply the glue and stick on it! Well Done Rainbow! We look forward to see them presenting their body parts confidently!
