Nagano Shooting Star October 23-37 Hallowe’en and Harvest Time!

Well actually, our radish harvest was not so exciting…ONLY Rose Group got radishes- 12 of them! The caterpillars completely destroyed ALL the leaves of the other three groups’ radishes, so their harvest was zero. Luckily, the caterpillars didn’t find the teacher’s planter, so everyone got at least one radish to take home to add some color and zing to the family salad.

We learned a new game called “Acorn, Acorn, WHO has the Acorn??” . Everybody is learning to be good actors- pretending to look happy and excited when they DON’T have it, or disappointed and sad when they DO so that the other team cannot find in three guesses who really has it!

We got so many acorns on our bus trip last week…We want to count them ten by ten next week to find out “HOW MANY acorns do we have??”!

Everyone is excited about the Hallowe’en party on Friday the 27th! It’s “The Addams Family Hallowe’en!” theme, so we watched Episode One of the original 1964 American TV series to learn about their kooky family and spooky house. We also have a BIG orange pinata that we all decorated…we will TRY to break it open at the party.

Less than 2 months to Christmas now, so we are learning the songs, lines and dances for “The Shoemaker and the Elves”. Thank you to families for decorating the hats!
