Nagano Shooting Star: When is Communication Effective? (Oct. 11th-14th)

In relation to our I wonder question last week, Shooting Star class has a deep understanding of communication now. We understand that communication happens when someone is talking and the other person is listening. There can’t be two people talking at the same time for there will be no understanding. We learned that communication is effective when we listen and understand what was being told. We were given examples of communication using our classroom situations. This is in connection to our UOI Line of Inquiry: Communication can be expressed through stories. Now that we understand what communication is and what makes it effective, we try our best to listen while someone is talking.

We talked about two elements of a story- characters (who) and setting (where) our favorite characters and why we like them. We used the Learner Profiles to talk about their personalities.
