Aurora Nagano: Short & Sweet week

Hello everyone! Hope you all enjoy the holidays as we only had 3 days of school for this week. First off, we continued our UOI for the final week “The ways animals help us.”. We discussed and talked about the working dogs in our community, dogs are not just pets, they have jobs too! Just like everyone’s favorite cartoon–Paw Patrol! We learned about the jobs of assistance dog, therapy dog, search and rescue dog, airport dog, fireman’s dog, sniffer dog, police dog, and sled dog. Each dog has a different duties and responsibilities like us! For example, Assistance dog helps blind people, airport dog chases the birds away at the airport, police dog sniffs out criminal, therapy dog calms the patients at hospital and etc. Our kids were amazed that the dogs we used to see in the park can be a superhero in our society. The kids also gave their opinion on the working dogs, and we are very grateful to them.

We also had our amazing music lesson for this week. We learned about balancing ourselves and clap according to the tempo of the music. The teacher gave us a bell and asked us to put on a piece of card, we need to hold the card firmly and avoid letting the bell falling off. This challenged our balance skills, and we did it! Great job! Next, we got a castanet, and we clap it according to the numbers the teacher mentioned. This activity helps in self retrain and listening to teacher. We did our best and finally we could play the castanet with confidence! Another great job Aurora!

The weather is getting colder, and swimming lesson is still our favorite of the week. We have done some advance activities such as jumping into the pool, dive in the water, float and swim through the water. That’s all for this week, enjoy the three days holidays!
