Taking care of animals is a big task for our kids and is essential for our learning as “Animal Rangers”. So for this week, we brought in some stuffed animals to our classroom. The kids learned to take care of them as if they are taking care of real animals, we feed them, comfort them, and treat them nicely. Well Done Aurora Rangers, we can see that the animals were comfortable in your hands!

子どもたちはとても興味を持ち、ご飯をあげたり、寝かしつけたり、ブランケットをかけたり、お家を用意し、自分たちの活動の間は、そこで寝かせたり、一生懸命お世話をしている姿があります。子どもたちからいくつか疑問もでています。「いつ寝るんだろう？」「どんな食べ物が好きなんだろう？」こんな素敵な疑問を子どもたちと一緒に遊びながら探究をしていきたいと思います。アニマルレンジャーのオーロラのみんなGood job🤩!!
In connection to our UOI, we also learned about farm animals this week. We first watched the video on “The trip to the farm”. We observed carefully on the kind of animals lived in farm and how the farmer took care of them. The kids then told us the animals they seen and we studied on their names. Lastly, we drew the animals on the farm wallpapers and paste on our hallway. Wow, we have got our own farm!
今週のUOIのレッスンでは、農場に住む動物に焦点を当て学びました。私たちは、最初に「農場への旅」の映像を見ました。農場に住む動物の種類と、農夫がどのように動物たちのお世話をしているかをよく観察しながら見ました。夢中で映像を見る子どもたちからは、映像にでてくる動物の名前を言ったり、「大きい！」「かわいい！」など感情を自由に表現しながら、楽しみながら見終えました。そして、映像を見終わった後は、どんな動物がいたのかをみんなで振り返り、初めて知る動物の名前などを学びながら話をしました。そして、農場の絵の大きなポスターに農場に住む動物の絵を描いていきました🤩
It is about time and our kids have noticed the vegetables we planted were matured and able to pick them. Therefore, we took this opportunity to pick the vegetables this week. Each kid observed the plants and learned to identify which is good to pick. For instance, orange and red tomatoes are good to pick. After that, we picked them carefully and put into a bowl. Amazing works Aurora!
5月に植えた野菜の苗がぐんぐん育ち、たくさんの実をつけ、いよいよ一回目の収穫の時期になりました🤩苗を植えてから、子どもたちは水やりをし野菜の成長を見守ってきました。この夏は、例年よりも早い夏の訪れに、水をあげてもすぐに土がカラカラになってしまったり、実が焼けてしまったりなど、やはり自然な物はうまくいかないこともありますが、それも学びの一つです。収穫を終えた子どもたちは、また一生懸命に水やりをしてくれました。いつも一生懸命に取り組んでくれるオーロラさん！すばらしいです🤩
Besides that, we also learned to cut with scissors this week! What a milestone! We first learned about the rules on using scissors (Using the scissor while sitting down, do not point towards people, do not hold the sharp point of scissor, close the lid after used) and how to hold the scissor properly. Then we applied our learning in action by doing the craft on making our own lion. We colored the lion with the sponge and water colors, then we used the scissors to cut out the shape of furs for the lion. Lastly, we practiced to cut the paper according to the lines. It was hard at first but we gradually seen the progression of our kids. Keep going and practice more! Dear parents, please practice using the scissor at home if you have the chance, it helps to improve their scissor skills.
今週は、初めてはさみを使った工作を行いました✄ まずは、✄の使い方から子どもたちと一緒にルールの確認をしていきました。はさみを正しく安全に使えるようになると工作の幅がグッとひろがり、またものづくりの楽しみもグッとひろがりますね🤩まずは、はさみはどういうものなのかを子どもたちに紹介しました。そして、はさみを使うときは、かならず座って使う、はさみの刃をさわらない、自分やおともだちにはさみを向けない、自分やおともだちの髪の毛を切らない、使い終わったらかならずカバーをする、持ち運ぶときや相手にはさみを渡すときは刃の方を握って渡すなど、はさみを安全に使うルールをみんなで確認しました。子どもたちは、早く切ってみたい！など挑戦したい気持ちを伝えてくれます。そして、はさみの持ち方をみんなで確認してから、実際にはさみを握ってみます。短冊の画用紙に線が描かれてる紙を一枚ずつ持ち、また紙の持ち方もしっかり確認していよいよ切っていきます。みんな黙々と集中してどんどん切っていきます。さて、今日はそれだけではなく、紙皿を使ったライオン🦁の工作をしました。紙皿をライオンの顔になるように絵の具とスポンジを使って色を付けていきます。そして、紙皿の周りの部分をライオン🦁のたてがみに見立て、はさみを使って切り込みを入れます。紙皿は丸い形をしているのではさみを持つ方の手と反対の手も上手に使いながら切っていきます🤩これからもはさみを使ったクラフトをどんどん取り入れ、いろんなものを自由に創造力を使い作っていきたいと思います。たのしみだね🤩オーロラのみんな🦁
