Hello everyone!
It has been a wonderful week here at ISN! We made some mochi and had fun making some nice winter crafts.

今週は、お餅つきや、冬のクラフトをしたりと元気いっぱい楽しい一週間を過ごしました。
Mochitsuki
We had a very special day this week! We got to experience making mochi. It was a first-time experience for many of the students and teachers. Everyone gathered around the big wooden mortar used for making the mochi. The teachers took turn hammering the rice until it turned into some delicious mochi. We all counted loudly together counted every time we hit the rice. Good job counting everyone! Everyone was amazed that what looked like ordinary rice could change so much! After it was done, we all enjoyed some nice homemade mochi covered in kinako.
今週はスクールでお餅つきをしました！
まず大きな臼ときねにみんなビックリ!! 臼にもち米が入ると歓声が上がり、目を丸くして先生達がこねる、つく姿を見ていました。先生がつくタイミングで一緒に数を数えたりとみんなとても楽しそうに参加していました。
その後つきたてのお餅にきな粉をまぶしみんなでいただきました、お餅が初めてのお友達もいましたが“おいしい”“もっと食べたい”と言っているお友達も沢山いましたよ！みんなで素敵な体験ができました。
Crafts
We also had a lot of fun making some nice colorful gloves for our winter crafts. We glued colored strips of paper onto a bigger piece of white paper. We then cut it in to the shape of a glove. We also used some cotton to make the brim of the gloves. Everyone was proud to show off their great work!
We also made some cute small demons using paper and a toilet paper roll!
今週はカラフルな手袋を作りました！
細く切ったカラーペーパーを手袋の絵の上に貼っていき、最後に手袋の形に切り完成です。みんな色の順番にこだわりながらカラフルでとっても可愛い手袋ができました。みんなで見せ合いをし楽しんでいました。
もう一つは青鬼を作りました！トイレットペーパーの芯に青鬼の体を張り付け、先生に手伝ってもらいながら顔、腕、足の位置を確認しながら一つ一つ張り付けていきました、色々な表情をした可愛らしい鬼さん達ができあがりました。
Music
We had a full class for this week’s music class! Everyone was full of energy and ready to go!
The teacher started off the lesson by blowing up a balloon to show the children the difference between big and small. We then used our bodies and pretended being balloons. We started out as small balloons, and grew bigger as the teacher played music. We then took a look at pictures of a few different stores and the items they were selling. As we said their names, we clapped our hands in rhythm to the name. We finished the lesson by singing and clapping along to the song “Ten little Indians”
今週もイメージを膨らませ、色々なニュアンスを表現しました。
風船がどう膨らみ、どう小さくなるのか実際に見て触れ、その後、体で風船を表現！音楽に合わせて大きくなったり、小さくなったり、風船になって飛んでいったりしました。他にも絵本で見たお店の名前を憶え、お店屋さんの名前を言いつつリズムにのって手を叩いたり、ステップを踏む練習もしました。一生懸命頑張ばっていましたよ。最後に１０人のインディアンズの歌を歌いながら、手で拍子をとる練習をしました。みんな覚えが速く、上手にできていましたよ！
