Nagano Shooting Star – Adding is what makes everything count (September 9th-13th)

Hello everyone!

Sorry for my absence, but I was very happy to be back in the class this week!

Writing

We have completed tracing all the letters and have progressed to writing practice without using tracing lines. We continue to use a 3-line writing sheet to assist the students in maintaining correct letter formation. This week, we started practicing writing both uppercase and lowercase “A.” Remember, practice makes perfect, so I encourage everyone to practice at home when they have the time. You can download the same worksheet we used at school below.

Workstations

In the afternoon, we arrange workstations for the students to continue learning in a more relaxed environment. A workstation is an activity center or table where students perform specific tasks. The setup typically includes multiple tables, each dedicated to a different activity. Our class usually has three or four stations, and students rotate between them once they finish the activity at their current station. One of these stations focused on math, where students practiced simple addition using their fingers or counting blocks, allowing them to showcase their math skills.

Park

It’s been too hot to go to the park, but since the weather has cooled down a little, we were able to play at the park again.

Exercise dances

The kids have been really excited about moving their bodies to a fun new video series by the YouTube channel Danny Go! Here are three of their favorites.
