Nagano Aurora– A new journey begins! (April 4th-14th)

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the Aurora blog for the new school year! I am so happy to follow my Rainbow students to Aurora and welcome our new friends joining our class. We are going to have a lot of fun learning and growing together this year.

First day!

The first day at school can be a bit scary. Suddenly there is a new big scary teacher there! As expected, we’ve had some tears in the mornings, but there have been a lot of smiles and laughter too! We had a lot of fun playing outside together.

After playing outside we had our first lunch together! Everyone was able to prepare their own things for lunch by themselves! I have a feeling this is going to be a great year!

Fun with clay

We had a lot of requests from the kids to play with clay. We had a lot of fun making different shapes with the clay!

We can clean

Our main focus of our first week of school has been getting to know our routine and rules of the class. We took a look at all our new toys and how to clean them for one of our activities. We decided together how to organize and clean the toys.

Monthly song!

Each month, we are going to have a special song that we will be singing everyday. We usually sing this song together at the end of the day during our circle time.

This month’s song is “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”. The song was composed for an old Disney movie called “Song of the South”. It actually won an academy award for best original song in 1947! This was also one of my favorite songs when I was at the same age too! We have a lot of fun singing this song everyday, so please sing it together at home!
