Nagano Milky Way: Saving the planet (Sept. 9th-13th)

A lot of things have been happening in our environment. There are big typhoons that cause flooding, landslides, too much trash everywhere, sea creatures dying, and more. So we thought it would be nice and caring to help our environment recover from the impacts of humans.

We visited the Nagano City Environmental Energy Center in Matsuoka and witnessed the first few steps to process the burnable items and learned the next steps by listening to our tour guide.

After the visit, we discussed the process further and how this system helps the environment. We discussed that doing this reduces trash, produces renewable energy, and supplies electric power to public organizations in some cities in Nagano.

One way of helping the environment is by reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) based on maximizing the amount of power generation and supplying hot water to Sun Marine Nagano. They also reduce the disposal of ashes and slag from burning by recycling them and making them into concrete, blocks, and asphalt. They also use solar panels in addition to the power generated by steam turbines. In this case, they contribute to help save the Earth caused by harmful human actions.

There are many ways to help the Earth. We also want to help save the environment in our little ways. How about you, how can you save our planet?
