Nagano Milky Way: Teamwork is Everywhere (May 13th-17th)

We have been talking about teamwork and this week we had two guest speakers to talk about teamwork at work and school. On Monday, our cheerleader friend came to talk about how her team works and how they were able to achieve their goal as a team– to win the competition. She pointed out that to achieve our goal, we have to listen to our teammates and not only ourselves. We also have to communicate with them.

She showed us a video of their cheer routine that made their team the national champion in cheerleading, and soon to join the World Competition. According to her, teamwork is essential to achieve your goal. After her talk, she showed us some of her routines, we danced “Jamboree Mickey”, and then took a photo together.

On Wednesday, we had another guest speaker. He talked about his job and how his team works together despite their distance from each other. Some are in Europe, in New York, one in India, and he’s in Japan. He mentioned that a team is a group of people working together to achieve a common goal. To achieve this goal, he communicates with his team through video calls and online messaging. Communication is very important in a team so we try to be communicators in our team as well.

Thank you very much for your support! We learned more about teamwork.

Swimming

Our swimming lesson is always exciting because we get to have fun and learn to swim at the same time. This week we practiced swimming with a swimming kickboard. We had to practice putting our faces in the water and kicking while swimming.

Japanese Lesson

We started to write one hiragana character (ku く) on Thursday.

Outside Play

This week started gloomily but got fine towards the end of the week. So those days were a good time to play and enjoy the heat.
