Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

Hello Aurora families!

We have had another fun week at ISN!

At the end of last week, we had our November Birthday Party. There were no birthdays from Aurora in November, but we had one Rainbow birthday to celebrate. We started off with an interview of the Birthday Girl, then sang Happy Birthday, and finally were very lucky to have the chance to listen to one of our teachers tell us the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Aurora class set a good example for the younger students, and sat nicely throughout the party. Well done everyone!

Moving back to this week, and we were able to have another fun gymnastics lesson. This month we are focusing on the aspect of agility. We started off by stretching our limbs, and warmed up with some aerobic exercises. After that we set up some coloured cones, and when our teacher called out a colour, we would run to that matching cone. Next we set up a mat, and worked on jumping over an obstacle to land on the mat. Finally we set up and obstacle course, and as quickly as we could, ran, jumped and hopped over the different obstacles. Everyone did a great job, and was very quick during the lesson!

Next we made the first of our Christmas crafts. This time, we made a Christmas tree out of paper plates. First, our teacher cut up the paper plates into small pieces. After that, with the help of our teacher, we stapled three pieces together to make a tree shape. Then, we painted the sections green, and decorated the trees using packing peanuts, cotton balls, and sticky jewels. Finally, we attached a golden star to the top of our tree, and let the paint dry. Everyone did a wonderful job, and didn’t make too much of a mess!

Finally, we had a Christmas show rehearsal. We joined up with Rainbow class, and ran through our performance from top to bottom. We practised singing our songs, remembering our lines, and our entrances/exits onto the stage. It went very well, and we are very excited to show you all soon! To avoid any spoilers, we will hold off on pictures for this activity!

Thank you everyone, and see you again next time!
