Hello Aurora and Shooting Star families!
We have had another fun week at ISN!
This week we welcomed some new students who were enrolled in our Summer Program. We had fun playing many games with them, and hope they improved their English!
今週からISNサマープログラムが始まり、新しい友達が加わり、英語で楽しく遊び、学びました！
We were very lucky this week to receive a kind donation of a large, juicy watermelon from one of our parents!
とてもラッキーな事にここISNに通っているご家庭からとても甘く大きなすいかを頂いきました。
So, we thought what better use for this lovely gift than to break it open with some bats!
そして、そのすいかでRainbowのお友達と一緒にすいか割りをしました！
We set up a tarp under the watermelon, and practiced how to swing the bat in order to break it.
すいか割りを始める前に、まず、きれいなレジャーシートを敷いてその上にすいかを置き、すいか割りの練習をしました。
First our friends in Rainbow class tried to break the watermelon. Do you think they were able to?
まず、最初にRainbowクラスのお友達から１人づつバットを振ってすいかを叩いてみました。さて、すいかは割れたでしょうか？
That’s right, they couldn’t!
そうですね！少し力が足りなかったようです。
So it came down to the older students to try to break the lovely gift!
Rainbowの一番大きいお友達にも少し難しかったようです。
Our Aurora students took turns trying to break it open first. Sadly the watermelon was still intact after all of their turns!
Auroraのクラスの順番がやってきました。１人づつ順番に「バシッ！、 バシッ ！！」と叩いて行きましたが、ビクともしません…。(‘_’)
Next Shooting Star had several tries to break it. Again, the watermelon did not break!
そして、Shooting Starの番です！ShootingStarのお友達も力いっぱいバットを振り、「バシッ！！、バシッ！！！」と叩いてみましたが、すいかはなかなか割れてくれません…。”(-“”-)”
Finally our older Summer Program friends had a go, but could also not break the watermelon open.
最後に、ISNサマースクールに参加している大きなお友達がトライ☆彡しかし…。やはり、すいかは固く、割れてくれませんでした。
That meant it had to be one of our teachers that finally broke it open!
仕方がないで、先生が「バシッ！！！」っと一撃。すいかはようやく割れました。
We then got to eat the watermelon for our lunch dessert two days in a row!
そして、そのすいかはその日と翌日のランチのデザートとしておいしくいただきました。
Thank you once again to the parents that donated the watermelon! We had a blast trying to break it!
すいかを寄付してくださった、親御様、本当にありがとうございました。頂いたすいかのおかげで、とても楽しい夏の思い出を作る事が出来ました。
