Hello everyone!
It has been yet another fun week here at ISN. This week we have started our new monthly topic, as well as enjoying our time outside in the pool! We also had fun hitting a watermelon!

８月に入り梅雨が明け、今週は猛暑日が続き水遊びがとっても楽しい季節になりましたね。そして今週は、プールの他に夏のイベント！スイカ割！をみんなと一緒に行いました。
Pool
As I mentioned earlier, we have been enjoying the hot weather outside by using the pool in our school yard. We have been lucky that the weather has been so nice, because that gave us a chance to play in the pool multiple times this week!
今週は、お天気に恵まれて園庭でのプールを楽しむことができました。
Before we use the pool, we sit down together and do some fun stretches together
We also take a shower, bout before and after entering the pool.
プールに入る前はみんなで体操をし、水遊びの時のお約束を先生と確認！
みんなのテンションが上がるシャワータイム、順番に並び一人ずつシャワーを浴び、プールに入ります。
The kids asked their teacher to spray the water hose over them, so they can pretend that its raining in the pool. We also have fun using the various pool toys in the nice cool water.
プールの時間が大好きなレインボーのお友達、みんなとっても楽しそうです。先生が持ってるホースをみて、先生に“雨降らせて”とお願いし、ホースから水が出てくると“雨だー、プールに雨降ってる”嬉しそうにジャンプしたり、お友達とお話しながら水遊びを満喫していました。プール用のオモチャもお友達とシェアーしながら遊べることができました。
Watermelon splitting
First of all, thank you to one of the parents who generously donated a big watermelon to the school! We had a lot of fun trying to break it open!
保護者の方にみんなでスイカ割をしてくださいと、とっても大きなスイカを頂きました。ありがとうございました。
All the classes and teachers gathered outside for this special event.
全部のクラス、先生達も集合しスイカ割大会が開催されました！
We set up the watermelon inside a bag, on top of a blue tarp.
The students took turns trying to break the watermelon, while their friends sat on down cheering them on.
First up were our brave Rainbow students. They all tried their very best to break the watermelon, and it was so wonderful seeing their big smile as the swung the bat!
The watermelon was still in one piece, so the older classes also tried their best to break it. But even after all the hits, it was still not broken!
In the end, one of the teachers ended up breaking it!
スイカ割が初めてのお友達もいたようでビニールシートの上に置かれたスイカと棒をみて“これ何？これどうやるの？”と聞いていたり、知ってるお友達は”スイカ割、早くやりたい、食べたい”とお話していました。
先ずはレインボーのお友達から順番に先生と一緒にスイカ割を体験しました！頑張って強く叩いたけれども、大きなスイカはびくともせず…….次は、お兄さん、お姉さんクラスのお友達が順番に叩きましたが、まだまだ割れません…..最後は先生におまかせしてせーのっ！真ん中からぱかっと割ることができました。
給食の時間、スナックタイムにみんなでいただきました。甘くて、みずみずしくとても美味しかったです。みんなスイカのおかわりをしていました。

Monthly theme (Fruits!)
We have entered a new month, and this month it’s time to learn about fruits!
This week we have been talking about different fruit, as well as learning about likes and dislikes. It’s the perfect opportunity to practice the two phrases “I like it” and “I don’t like it”. One of the new fun songs we have been singing is called “Apples and bananas” It’s a big hit on our energetic rainbow classroom!
今月は果物の名前を学んでいます。
果物の絵を見ながら定番の果物から少し珍しい果物まで紹介し名前を覚えています。同時に好き、嫌いも英語で言えるようになりました！
先生がDo you like ……? I like …. /I don’t like …..と答えてくれます。
Apples and Bananasという歌をみんなで歌っています。レインボーのクラスでは大人気で、毎日、歌いたい！とリクエストがあります。
夏休み中お子様と一緒に歌ってみてください。

ご家庭で生活のリズムを整えながら、規則正しい生活を送り、夏ならではの生活をお子さんと一緒に楽しみ、楽しい思い出が沢山出来ることを祈っています。
