UOI: Responsibilities of a health worker
Doctors are important members of the community. People come to them to seek for help for illnesses and injuries.
お医者さんはコミュニティーの中でとても重要な役割をしています。病気やケガをした時は大変お世話になりますね✨
On Monday, September 6th, a mom and doctor, came to visit us to talk about her job. She is Dr. Oshima of Red Cross Hospital. She discussed her responsibilities as a doctor, as part of our LOI 3: Who works in different buildings and their responsibilities. As a member of the community, the kids were curious why doctors are important. Dr. Oshima told us the reason why. She also showed us some tools, equipment, and books that she uses at work like a light to see the inside of the nose, a tool to see the throat, otoscope, and more. She showed us human ear, and nasal cavity and throat anatomy models then explained how these parts of the body function and its relation to her job.
今週の月曜日、お母さんで女医さんの大島先生が園庭まで来てくださいました🏥 LOI 3: Who works in different buildings and their responsibilitiesに沿いお医者さんとしての責任とは何かのお話をしてくださいました。みなさんは、コミュニティーの一員としてどうしてお医者さんが必要なのか興味がありましたね💡そして、その理由を大島先生が教えて下さいました。 鼻の内側を見るライト、喉を見るツール、耳鏡など、お仕事で使用するいくつかのツール、器具、本📚を見せて頂きました。 人間の耳、鼻腔と喉の模型を見て、その後、身体のそれぞれ部分がどのように機能し、大島先生の仕事との関係を説明してくださいました👀

Craft: Autumn Leaves
Most mornings this week, everything outside was damp. Goosebumps raised on our bare arms as the wind blew. It seems like autumn is coming near. So, to get ready for this coming season, we made autumn leaves for our craft activity. We used laminating sheets, colored tissue paper, and glue to make this colorful craft for our windows and doors. It was funny that some kids made a comment like “This craft is difficult” because they had to cut and rip/ tear the tissue paper into small pieces. 😀
今週の朝は湿気が多かったですね。風が吹くと鳥肌が立つ日もありましたね🌬 季節の変わり目を感じました🍂次の季節の準備の為に紅葉している葉っぱ作りのクラフトをしました❣ ラミネートシート、薄紙、のり、はさみ✂を使用してクラスの窓とドアのデコレーションのスタートです。 薄紙を細かく切ったり、裂いたりする作業の最中、「このクラフトは難しい！」とコメントするお友達がいましたね😅
Math: Skip Counting, Place Values
We are still on skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s with Shooting Star. They continued coloring and designing their skip counting by 5s caterpillar then moved on to a worksheet where they had to complete the tables with skip counting by 5s without looking at the chart.
Shooting Starの算数は２，５、１０の倍数を学んでいます。５の倍数の青虫の色ぬり、デザインをしてワークシート、その後、チャートを見ずに５の倍数が言えるかチャレンジしました❣
For Milky Way, we practiced writing 3- digit numbers as I dictate it to them then identify the place value of a number. We also started addition this week.
Milky Wayは３桁の数字の位の学習です。先生が言った数字をホワイトボードへ書き記し、その数字が１，１０，１００どの位かを答えていきました。 そして足し算も今週からスタートです📝
GYM
For our gym lesson, we did most of the same routines and started of a new one where they had to do hand stand against the wall with the help of the teacher.
