I hope you had a wonderful winter holiday!
We had a short, but fun week here in Aurora. We talked about our holidays, had a fun music lesson, did some winter crafts and played outside in the snow a lot!
冬休みは、ご家族の皆さんで楽しく過ごせましたでしょうか。
ここオーロラクラスでは、3日間の楽しい一週間をみんなで過ごしました。冬休みの思い出をみんなで話したり、楽しい音楽レッスンをし、冬の工作を作ったり、雪の中でもたくさん遊びました⛄
My favourite winter break memory
We began this week by talking about all the fun things we had been doing over the winter holiday. It was very clear to me that everyone had a wonderful time at home with their family! After a nice discussion, we asked the kids to think of their favorite memories from the holiday. We then used crayons to draw it down on the paper.
今週は、冬休みの思い出の話をみんなですることから始めました。クラスのお友達みんなが大好きな家族と一緒に楽しい時間を過ごしたことを教えてくれました🤩その楽しい思い出の絵をみんなで描いてクラスで「Show＆Tell」をしました。みんなとっても嬉しそうにクラスでシェアしてくれましたね🖍
Crafts
For our winter crafts this week, we made some nice mittens!
We glued colored tissue paper to a piece of lamination paper to make the mittens.
In the front of the class, we had a variety of different colored tissue paper. The students came up and chose the colors they wanted to use for their mittens.
Then we cut and glued the paper on to a blank piece of lamination paper. The students fine motor skills have improved a lot this year, so they were able to safely and nicely cut their paper! Good job everyone!
今週は、みんなで可愛い「ミトン（手袋）」の工作をしました。さまざまな色の花紙を使って、台紙に接着していきます。
さまざまな色の花紙の中から、ミトンに使いたい自分の好きな色を選んでいきました。綺麗な華やかな色の花紙を前に、いろんな色を使いたい🖍！！とすべての色を選んでいるお友達が多かったです。次は、選んだ花紙を持って自分の席に戻り、はさみを使って四角く切っていきました。そして、糊をつかって台紙に貼り付けていきました。そして、貼り終わるとラミネートをして完成です。それを光にかざすと、それは綺麗な✨ミトン✨になりましたね🧤
今年は、子どもたちの細かい運動機能が大幅に向上しました。安全かつきれいに紙を切ることができました✄ Good job!🤩
Phonics
From this month we will start our reading practice. We use CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words, and with a focus on the beginning sounds this week. The word we read this week were: Man, jet, red, cup. We also did a worksheet where they had to identify the begging sound of the words we had just learned.
今月から読む練習を始めます。今週は、CVC（子音-母音-子音）の単語をいくつか読むことに挑戦をしました。今週読んだ単語は、男/ジェット/赤/カップです。そして、次にワークシートにも取り組みました。最初の単語の文字を三つの選択肢の中から選んでいきます。ひとつずつ声に出しながら聞き分けて選んでいきます。
Music lesson
We had another fun music lesson this week.
For this lesson, we bounced a rubber ball, and clapped our hands every time the ball hit the ground. Everyone got a chance to drop the ball, showing how different the rhythm can be depending on the person dropping it. Even the teachers got a chance to drop it, creating a much slower rhythm.
今週は楽しい音楽レッスンがありました。ボールを床に落とし、床に当たる瞬間に手をたたきます。今週はクラスのみんなが一人ずつボールを床に落とし他のみんなは、ボールをよくみてボールが床に着く瞬間に手をたたきました。落とす人によってリズムがかわります。背の高い先生が高い位置から落とすボールのリズムは、最初はとても遅くそして、長い間リズムが続きました🥎
We also used the hoops to walk around the room while singing “London bridge is falling down”
Fun in the snow!
We have been lucky enough to play outside in the snow every day this week! The first day outside we made a big Aurora Mountain! And it’s still standing there today!
今週は毎日雪の中で遊ぶことが出来ました⛄みんなでオーロラマウンテンを作りました！！そしてそれは、毎日そこにそびえ立っています🏔🤩
お友達と協力をして何かをする姿を最近はとてもよく見られます🤩
