Aurora Nagano: Field trip and mission

This week, we implemented what we had learned from the previous lesson, to help animals from any harm as we are sharing the planet with animals, we help each other to live. We decided to go to the park in Nagano city, this park is well known for the dogs to enjoy the time with their families. Therefore, trashes have the potential to harm when the dogs swallow them. So, we went to the park together, walked around and pick up the trashes we found. At the same time, we also learned to pick up the trashes correctly and identify the kinds of trashes that could do harm to dogs. The kids have done a great job in spotting the rubbish and put them in a plastic bag. The kids have learned to be more caring towards animals and want to protect them. As a reward, we had fun with each other at the playground before we go back to school! Well Done, Aurora Rangers! We also discussed and reflected what we have done at the park at school during the closing circle.

In addition, the UOI this week is about the pollution and bad actions toward animals. We performed a short skit on “Freddie” the fish. We told the story of Freddie and how different kinds of bad actions affect Freddie. We also demonstrated and put the trashes mentioned in the story into the water where Freddie swim and watch what Freddie has turned into eventually. From the story, we have learned that human’s selfish act will affect the environment and hurt the animals around us.

We added some new activities to our station works this week; the activities focused on using the chopsticks and learning to use the zipper. Our aim for this month is to ensure everyone is able to use chopsticks during the lunch time, using the right utensil is very important for our kids. Therefore, we encourage parents to cooperate with us and always let your kids to use chopsticks at home. Besides that, learning to zip the shirt will help our kids to put on the clothes independently. That is all for this week, see you!
