We started UOI lesson for this school year by meeting Mr. IB Man. He possesses all the Learner Profile attributes that we strive to be at ISN. He is principled, caring, balanced, communicator, thinker, reflective, knowledgeable, inquirer, open-minded, and a risk-taker.
今週からUOIのレッスンが始まりました！まず初めにMr. IB Man と一緒にISNが目指している学習者のプロファイルの属性について学びました。
principled,信念を持つ人 caring, 思いやりのある人balanced,バランスの取れた人 communicator,コミュニケーションができる人 thinker, 考える人reflective, 振り返りができる人knowledgeable,知識のある人 inquirer,探究する人 open-minded,心を開く人 and a risk-taker挑戦する人.
On the other hand, we met Mr. Candy and Ms. Sunflower, too. We dressed the up and helped them be like Mr. IB Man. And we, at Shooting Star class, would try our best to be like them, too.

What is Family?
In UOI Unit 1, we are going to talk about Who We Are with central idea “Family bonding increases self-esteem”. The Line of Inquiry 1 includes family structures and roles. To start the unit, we talked about what family is. Some of them said that family includes Mommy, Daddy, him/her, and baby. Some included their pets, while others included their grandma and grandpa. All families are different and unique in every way.

探究の流れは、家族構成と家族の役割について学んでいきます。
まず初めに家族とはなにか？をみんなで話し合いました。家族には、お母さん、お父さん、赤ちゃんがいる！話してくれたお友達、家族にはペットが含まれると話してくれたお友達、おばあちゃん、おじいちゃんもいるよ！と話してくれたお友達もいました。家族には様々な形があり、個性的である事をみんなで学びました。
One of the activities we did was drawing three families- dinosaur, snowman, and people families. We grouped ourselves according to our interests.
活動の1つは、恐竜、雪だるま、人の３つの家族を描いてみる事にしました。
興味のある物を一つ選びグループに別れて順番に書きたい人物像をグループで話し合いお父さん、お母さん、赤ちゃんの絵を描いていきました。
個性豊かな恐竜家族、雪だるま家族、人家族ができあがりました。
Happy Easter!
It will be Easter Sunday on the weekend! It’s time to go egg hunting! As bunnies, we made our bunny mask and colored our eggs. On Friday, we went indoor egg hunting since it was wet and rainy outside. It wasn’t hunting for eggs alone but matching the letters at the back of the eggs. We practiced sharing the eggs we found to match the upper and lower case letters and being nice to each other by not pushing our friends and using polite words when asking for something.

ウサギのお面を作り卵やお面に色を塗りエッグハンティングの準備は万端！
外でのハンティングを予定していましたが、雨の為今回は室内でエッグハンティングを行いました。勿論ただ卵を探すだけではありません、卵の裏には大文字、小文字のアルファベットが書かれています！大文字のA小文字のaの様にマッチさせながら探していきました。お友達に丁寧な言葉で自分が探してるアルファベットを尋ねながら卵を奪い合うことなくシェアーしながら楽しくエッグハントができました！
Phonics
Since it’s the beginning of Phonics lessons in Shooting Star class, we reviewed the letters of the alphabet and matched the upper and lower cases by playing memory game. What a fun game!
今週はフォニックスのレッスンも始まりました！
レッスンでは、アルファベットの大文字、小文字を再度一つ一つ確認し、次にみんなで記憶ゲームを行いました！1人1人順番にカードを選び大文字、小文字をマッチさせていきます。カードがどこにあったのか覚えながら、お友達同士助け合いながら楽しくゲーム、アルファベットを覚える事ができました。
