みなさん、こんにちは。
We had a shorter, but just as fun of a week here in Aurora! We had finished our first LOI, we had our first gym lesson and had a fun learning about numbers.
今週は3日間の短い週でしたが、ここAuroraでは、いつもと変わらない楽しい一週間をみんなで過ごしました。最初のUOIを終え、今年度初めてのジムレッスンをし、数字についても楽しく学びました。
Birthday party 🎉
At the end of last week, we had our birthday party for the April birthday kids. We had two very happy kids standing up in front of everyone. We had a short interview asking their name, age and favorite color, food and drink. They answered all the questions very well! They also received a nice birthday card before we all sang the happy birthday song together.
先週の終わりに、4月の誕生日のお友達のお誕生日会を開きました。少し照れながらも、とても嬉しそうにみんなの前に立つ二人のお友達に、Mr.Kennethが、インタビューをしました。先ずは、お名前、そして年齢、好きな色、好きな食べ物や飲み物などを聞いてみました。堂々と、とても上手に先生からのインタビューに答える二人をとても誇らしく思います。そして、先生から素敵なバースデーカードを受け取り、Auroraのお友達みんなでお誕生日おめでとうの歌を歌いました♪
UOI 🪞
Using the measurements, we took of our hands last week, we had the chance to also practice our number recognition while talking about the similarities and differences between our hands and feet.
The kids were presented with various pieces of papers with different numbers. They then had to fin the correct number of their measurement and stick it to the paper with their prints.
We also said the phrases together, “My hands are _ blocks long” and “I have 10 fingers”.
先週は、みんなで自分たちの手や足の大きさを知るために、小さな立方体のブロックを使って手形や足形の測定をしました。そして、先生やお友達と似ているところと、違っているところについてもお話をしました。
今回は、各テーブルに数字の書かれた小さな紙を配りました。子どもたちは、その中から、ブロックで測定した自分の手や足の長さの数字を見つけ、それを貼り付ける活動をしました。Auroraクラスでは、数字の学びも始まっています。Auroraのみんなは、数字が大好きなお友達が多く、とても興味があるようです。ここでも、率先して自分の手の長さの数字を見つけるお友達も見られました。
また、「私の手の長さは，ブロック○こ分の長さです。」や、「私は、10本の指を持っています。」という、フレーズも一緒に発声してみました。
We finished our first LOI, “Our bodies look different from others”, this week by taking another look at ourselves in the mirror. Thank you, parents, for bringing a mirror for your children to school.
We used to the mirror to look at ourselves while filling out an outline of a face. Before we started, we talked about what questions we should ask ourselves while looking at the mirror. What color is my lips? Eyes? What kind of hair do I have? Long? Short? Etc.
今週、私たちは最初のUOI1「Our bodies look deferent from others.」を終えました。このUOI1を通して、私たちは、身体の部位の名称を学び、他の人と似ている部分や違っている部分がある事を学びました。
セルフポートレイトを作成する前に、もう一度みんなで鏡をみて、どんな風に自分を観察したらよいかを話しました。唇の色は何色かな？どんな髪型かな？長いかな？短いかな？などです。
保護者の皆様には、活動に使用する鏡のご準備をしていただき、ありがとうございました。
After finishing drawing their face, we all sat down together.
Their final task was presenting their drawing to their friends. One by one they stood in front of their friends showing their drawing while saying “This is me!”. The teacher asked a few questions about why they chose the colors they did, and if the color on the paper was the same as the color on their face. This not only help us get a better grasp of our first LOI, but also helps us connect what we are doing to our central idea, “We can be the same and different”.
セルフポートレイトを作成した後、初めてのプレゼンテーションに挑戦しました。お友達の前に一人ずつ立ち、それぞれが作成したセルフポートレイトをもって、「This is Me!」と、発表をしました。少し照れながらも、しっかりと声を出して発表ができたことに、とても嬉しく誇らしく思います。
Mr.Keneethが、子どもたちに「なぜその色を選んだのですか？」また、「選んだ色は自分の顔の色と同じですか？」などと、いくつかの質問をしました。これは、私たちの最初のUOIをより理解するのに役立つだけでなく、また，このユニットのCentral Idea(中心的な考え）「We can be the same and different」に結び付けていく事にも役立つと考えています。
Math 🧮
It’s important to be able to recognize the numbers without having to think about it, and this week, we focused on the number “3”. After talking about the number, and counting various things, we did a number search worksheet together. There were no issues finding all the threes on the page!
数字を見て、すぐに認識できることが重要です。今週は、数字の「３」を学びました。いろいろな物をたくさんみんなで数えた後、ワークシートを使って「3」の数字を見つける、ナンバーサーチに取り組みました。たくさん見つけられたお友達が多かったですね☺
Phonics and writing practice ✏️
This week we covered the letter “C”
今週のアルファベットの文字は、「C」です。
First, we looked at some flashcards containing objects starting the letter, followed by coloring some drawings. We also did a letter search. Each table got one marker that that they used to circle the letter, after which they handed the marker over to one of their friends. They then took turns until they found all the letters.
Finally, we traced the letter!
最初に「C」から始まる単語のフラッシュカードをMr.Keneethが紹介し、みんなで発声してみました。そして「C」から始まる絵が描かれたワークシートに、それぞれに発声しながら色塗りをしました。「C cc…cat!」
その後、みんなでレターサーチに取り組みました。一人ずつ順番に、「C」を見つけたら、マーカーで丸で囲み、次のお友達へ。
そして、いよいよ「Ｃ」のトレーシングです！
Gym lesson 🤸
We also had our first gym lesson together this week.

今週はいよいよ今年度初めてのジムレッスンが行われました。

Park 🌳
As always, we have a lot of fun playing outside everyday, and especially when we go to the park! This week, we had a lot of fun observing an ant colony living in the park!
今週もいつものように、Auroraのみんなで外で思いっきり遊びました。公園でたくさん体を動かして遊ぶ事が大好きなAuroraのみんなですが、今週は、公園に住むアリさんの巣を観察するのがとても楽しかったようです。
